Wire Wireless

Connect using a wire or wireless?
Im getting problems with my wireless router, i keep being disconnected
I noticed my brother is now connected to the router using a wire, are there any advantages to connecting using a wire, performance wise? will the speed be the same?
Is the speed a lot faster using a wire?
Im im going to connect with a wire I will have to run a wire up the stairs, is it worth it?
The advantage of wireless is only one, convenient, but there are a lot of disadvantages:
1. Other wireless hardware with the same radio frequency around it or any absorbance/obstacle (wall, concrete and so on) can affect performance of your wireless router
2. The data transfer between wireless computer and wireless router is easily to captured by hacker
3. Easily to do MITM Attack (Man In The Middle Attack) or basically hacker is intercepting communication between wireless router and wireless computer
4. Easily to spoof (other wireless hardware produces same name (SSID) so you will think that this is your wireless router)
5. Need a lot of WiFi security to protect your connection and may be encryption to protect your data in which will cause the wireless range is shorter and slower the data transfer
