So whats better?
i need to know whats better SERATO scratch live or virtual vinyl or torq conectiv vynil on a ibook g4 so can you please tell me what would be better and what if i wasent using a mac if i was using a windows? so basicly i need to know whats better for a Mac and a Windows
I have several friends who DJ and they all use Serato. Serato on windows or mac is the DJ Industry’s Standard. I should know I have a boatload of friends who use it.
Thing about the Windows system is that you try to keep the system clean. Don’t put alot of crap on the system like limewire, and all that free software. KISS Keep it simple stupid. Since it is like carrying your music collection around, you treat it with care. Keep the thing clean, don’t download freeware, make sure there is virus protection on it and you should be good. My friends who use Serato on Windows can do everything that my friends on the mac can do.
I have a macbook and if I installed Serato I would do the same thing, keep the system pristine. Since it is the piece that will be supplying the music to a club, you want to keep it pristine.
My friends don’t let people mess with their Serato Laptops, because they are scared of other people messing up their music collections.
When people say windows crashes alot, all I say is that its human error by installing all the crap that people do.
If you are going to build a pristine dj laptop, install windows from scratch. Remove all the excess software. Make sure its patched up with all the MS patches. Make sure all the drivers are installed, and finally install some Virus Scanning Software. Keep the system clean, and only surf on wireless networks when you absolutely have to.
