Are the Yankees still the Evil Empire?
What I mean is, the Yankees have drastically changed their way of getting players, searching within the Farm System and keeping top prospects. Gone are the days of spending tons of money for one player for a few months of work. With the acuisition of Pudge, Nady, Marte, they traded & bought pretty cheap, addressing needs, and keeping their “best” prospects (Although I thought Karstens & Tabata should have stayed, but…)
I kind of feel that the Red Sox have started to appear the Evil Empire image, talk about paying too much for players (Matsuzaka) and just in general management (Manny, etc.)
Of course they are the “evil empire” and always will be.
That’s the price you pay for being that good.
