Mic Holder
Do you consider this a good quality home recording studio?
I have a small room in my house which I’m planning to turn into a mini-recording studio… Basically, I was wondering if it’s worth buying on what I’m planning to buy. I will be singing/rapping.
- Rode NT1-A (Pop filter, mic holder)
- M-audio Fast Track USB audio interface (With Pro Tools)
- Mic Stand with Boom.
Is there any suggestions? Or would this be pretty nice to record vocals with?
Yes, all that will work fine. The NT1 is a great mic.
You might consider making sure your recording room is treated for acoustics too. You want to avoid a room with a lot of hard flat surfaces – those create a hollow sound when recording. Make sure there is carpet on the floor – soft furniture in the room – thick window shades. All that will “soften” up the sound of the room. Think about how a room sounds when it is empty on moving day. That is what you want to avoid. You can also buy foam treatments for your walls:
