Why will my computer not detect my brand new Mackie Onyx Satellite?
I have tried to install this firewire recording system on my Toshiba XP SP2 laptop, it meets all OS requirements of the device, but when the installation asks me to connect the Satellite system to my computer, my laptop does not detect a connection at all, and therefore installation fails. My laptops firewire port (IEEE texas instruments 1394) is working properly as stated in device manager, and the Mackie unit is fully powered up before I plug it in when asked. Tech support refuse to help because I ordered it to be shipped from America to Australia from a licensed Mackie dealer, and I don’t know what to do. I have tried resetting the computer, trying to connect several times, and no luck at all. I even tried to connect it with another firewire cord. Could I need an updated driver for my firewire port? The laptop says the driver release is from 2001. WHERE CAN I GO? Thank you in advance. I really want to start recording some music!
