Hum Eliminator
how can i recreate ground-loop video ‘hum’ ?
i have an allen avionics hec-5000 hum eliminator that i think is damaged. Does anyone know how to create the horizontal bars that this equipment is designed to eliminate so that I can test my hum eliminator?
You would need a signal generator and feed the “unwanted” frequencies through each of the 5 video channels.
The unwanted frequencies which the HEC-5000 is supposed to filter out are 50Hz, 60Hz, and 400Hz.
The signal reduction for those frequencies should be at least 60dB.
All other frequencies should not weaken by more than 1.2dB.
Then you know it works…..
