Hot Spot
How do you cure a hot spot on your shih tzu?
My shih tzu has a bright red spot and is constantly itching. I’m sure it’s a hot spot. How do I cure it. I don’t have the money to get him to a vet right now.
They’re hard to get rid of by yourself, but I’ve prevented reoccurances with a golden and a collie by changing them to a food that doesn’t have corn, wheat, soy, or any by-products in it. If the spot isn’t going away you may have to get to a vet. He will give you a prescription for antibiotics and prednisone(possibly in the form of a shot) to clear up the spot(s). Once you get a diagnosis of hot spot, please do a diet change immediately.
