Four Lens
Legacy 28mm lens on four thirds system?
If I use an old manual focus 28mm f/2.8 wide lens on my Olympus E-500 with the crop factor of 2, it would not be a wide angle lens anymore, but the view angle will be close to 50mm prime lens on 35mm film; am I right?
Will it be good for portraiture use?
I have found plenty of cheap M42 mount & Vivitar 28mm lenses on eBay, are they good?
Even though it’s a tighter view, there’s still a little curve in the front element that would make it unsuited for portraits.
It’s actually a 56mm equivalent field of view.
Vivitar is not a highly held brand. I’m not familiar with the other one. However, if you can find a lens to use in the focal length you need, go for it. if you’re not getting the cover of GQ, ya know, a little color fringing is acceptable in a $15 lens off Ebay.
