Focusrite Saffire

CUBASE problem?
Ok, so I Fantom synthesizer, sound card is connected to FX to my Focusrite Saffire, and the program I use on my computer to record everything that is, Cubase. However, I want to record MIDI through when I stop recording and the audio it sounds like garbage. Is Cubase fucking synth sounds, or should I stop recording with MIDI? plz HELPPP
