Gather up photos and home movies of you and your wife from the time you met up ’til now, and commission a “through the years” video photo montage.
It’s a video, made from your photos (prints or digital photos… doesn’t matter, because prints — and slides, even — can be scanned and digitized) and home movies, set to music. Depending on how you’d use it, you could either do a short (4-6 minute piece that would be shown at a specific point in the event, or a longer piece (10-15 minute, possibly) that could play throughout the event — during a reception, for instance.
This is an excellent way to take your guests through your life together in an entertaining and easy-to-watch way. If they are well-done, they’re put to music and edited well — with motion effects and nice transitions — so it’s fun to watch. You’ll have a good time going through old pictures to choose the ones to include, and you’ll find that at the event, people will like it too — especially when friends and family see themselves as part of your life through the years.

They take a few weeks to make, so you’re wise to start thinking about the event now. If you choose to call them (or any company) before you commit to hiring them you should spend some time on the phone with them to understand the kind of work they do and their philosophy.
Some companies do very simplistic versions of these and charge no more than $100-$200. You’ll pay at least $300 for a really well-made one, and depending on how many pictures you have and how much (and what kind) of home movies, the cost will increase.
It’s a chunk of money, but it’s a great addition to the party… and you can even give guests (or even just the close family!) copies on DVD.
